Custom HTML5 Video Player

Day 11: Custom HTML5 Video Player

When I first saw that we were going to build a custom video player with the ability to play, pause, fast forward & rewind in multiple spots plus change the volume and playback rate.... I thought it was going to require writing more code than we actually did.

This video series does a fantastic job in breaking things down into its simplest form and build projects step by step.

What did I learn?

Creating your own volume and playback rate features are much easier than I thought! Between adding event listeners and knowing which properties to look for, you can make things happen.

A timeupdate event listener exists and was used to display the current time of the video while incorporating user interaction such as fast forwarding and rewinding.

I feel very comfortable in writing my addEventListener's and document.querySelector's.
